The Music Modernization Act, or MMA, was signed into law on October 18, 2018, and is the most significant piece of copyright legislation enacted in decades to protect songwriters, and music producers. The bill considers how music licensing and royalties for music and audio recordings will be paid due to the advent of digital streaming services.
